HOP Client Story

Brian felt hopeless after his wife left him and his five-year-old autistic son. He was falling behind on car payments after losing his job and felt he did not have the resources nor skills to parent his autistic son. He reached out to an Impact Health Care Navigator seeking car payment assistance.

While the Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP) could not directly assist with his car payments, Brian’s Care Navigator was able to screen his son and enroll him in HOP. Within a few days, Brian was connected with a human service organization, which provided him with parenting resources for his son and connected him with a local church that helped cover the cost of late car payments.

Because of the help he received through HOP, Brian was able to find a new job, learn how to advocate for his son, and provide his son with the resources he needed to be a successful student in school.
