Impact Health Launches Impact Primary Care Network to Support Healthcare Transformation in Western North Carolina
New Physician-Led Clinically Integrated Network Focuses on Whole-Person Care
Asheville, N.C. – Impact Health announces the creation of Impact Primary Care Network (IPCN), a new nonprofit, physician-led, clinically integrated network (CIN) working to transform healthcare in Western North Carolina (WNC). Launched on Jan. 1, 2025, IPCN enables participating primary care practices to seamlessly integrate services that support both clinical care and health-related social needs for patients.
“In response to healthcare provider and community feedback, Impact Health created a clinically integrated network that is deeply rooted in WNC,” said Laurie Stradley, DrPH, executive director for Impact Health. “This new nonprofit network is physician-led and patient-centered and leverages Impact Health’s success addressing social health needs through the Healthy Opportunities Pilot and strong regional partnerships.”
Participating practices include WNC-based family, internal medicine, and pediatric practices, and federally qualified health centers invested in the health of our rural region.
IPCN will be led by Allison Krivatch who has an extensive background in healthcare communications and organizational leadership.
“IPCN will work with participating practices to provide meaningful care management solutions to primary care challenges,” said Allison Krivatch, executive director for IPCN. “As a physician-led network, IPCN is built to prioritize the needs of WNC providers and their patients. We want primary care providers in our region to have a choice — and a voice — in the quality of primary care.”
IPCN will support WNC practices participating in Making Care Primary, a new care model being tested by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in North Carolina and seven other states. Making Care Primary aims to improve whole-person care through quality care management and care coordination that engages community-based assets to address patients’ health-related social needs.
The network’s leadership team includes Amy Russell, MD, who will serve as IPCN’s chief medical officer in addition to her role as chief medical and population health officer at the Mountain Area Health Education Center, and Cynthia Reese and Darren Boice, LCSW, who have decades of experience working closely with healthcare providers, practices, and payors.
IPCN will offer access to a best-in-class care management and data analytics platform, HOP administration, and quality performance and community health worker support. By leveraging population health data and analytics, IPCN will enable participating practices in WNC to operate with greater efficiency and effectiveness.
